Mari C. Bush

Mari C. Bush is a shareholder in Kaye and Bush, LLC. Ms. Bush is a Colorado native, a Boettcher Scholar and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Denver. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University School of Law. At Stanford Law School, Ms. Bush was a founding member of Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation and active in the Women’s Law Caucus and the Environmental Law Society. She was elected President of her graduating class (1980).

Ms. Bush has concentrated her practice in the area of Plaintiff’s personal injury since the outset. She represented women and children in product liability actions against the manufacturers of a variety of medical devices and pharmaceutical products. Ms. Bush served as Colorado Liaison Counsel to the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for the Breast Implant Multi-District Litigation. In addition, Ms. Bush tried cases involving the wrongful failure to timely diagnose breast cancer in young women. Ms. Bush has long been involved in assisting families and individuals in claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

Ms. Bush and Mr. Kaye have tried significant automobile cases. Further, Ms. Bush is a public arbiter for FINRA, the financial industry regulating authority (formerly NASD).

As part of her ongoing commitment to the legal profession, Ms. Bush was a founding member of Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, a national public interest law firm. She has been an active member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), serving on its Board of Directors since the mid-1980s and on the Executive Committee since the 1990s. Among her other contributions to CTLA, she has been a Chair of the CTLA’s Annual Convention, the Case Assistance Committee, the Environmental Law Committee and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Trial Talk, CTLA’s bi-monthly publication. Ms. Bush is also a long-standing member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She served on the Judicial Nominating Committee for the Boulder District Courts.

Ms. Bush has successfully completed the 40-hour Mediation Training, offered by the Colorado Bar Association for the past several years.

Ms. Bush has been recognized as a Colorado “Super Lawyer” in the area of personal injury litigation.

Ms. Bush has lectured at various professional programs over the years on a variety of topics, including evidence, managed care, seizure disorders, legal problems of the elderly, innovative sources of research and technology and professional negligence. Ms. Bush has also been a selected instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy’s (NITA) Depositions Program. She was an invited participant for the, National Vaccine Advisory Board, Subcommittee on Process (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). Ms. Bush has also testified before committees of the Colorado State legislature on legal issues. She has been a published author in professional journals.

In her spare time, Ms. Bush enjoys exploring Ireland, taking care of her own dog (as well as the neighbors’ dogs), attending concerts, organizing her precinct and tending to her friends and family.
